Introduction
Welcome to AP Calculus at LCMR. I am very excited once again about teaching this class and hopefully this year will be both challenging and rewarding for all of us. We will meet for a double period each day with the goal of every student in the class to not only take the AP exam in May but that all students pass the AP exam. This is the twelfth year of the AP Calculus program and every student that has taken the AP exam has passed in the previous eleven years. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me in class or after class. I want this to be the best year of mathematics you have ever had here at LCMR!
Calendar
On the right side of this page you will see a list of assignments and the due dates. If you are absent please check the assignment for that day and make an honest attempt at the homework. If you would like to have a calendar click on the month below. Be aware that the monthly calendars may change slightly but they are good for planning purposes.
I HAVE STARTED TO PUT MY UPDATED CALENDARS ON EDMODO SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PARTICULAR ASSIGNMENT GO TO YOUR EDMODO ACCOUNT AND CLICK ON THE CALENDAR!!!

Grading
Grades for AP Calculus will be based on both homework and tests/quizzes. Your homework will represent 25% of your grade and the tests/quizzes will make up the final 75%.
We will review homework in class, however, if you feel yourself falling behind do not wait to get extra help. The course moves very quickly and all of the concepts build on each other. You must retain and build on the concepts everyday.
The tests/quizzes will be very challenging. I will be asking you to combine learned concepts and analyze problems that you may not have seen before. It is critical that you learn to read a problem, analyze the problem and then develop a strategy to complete the problem. We will work on this approach all year so that in May you will be successful on the AP exam.
We will have a mid term exam the week before winter break. This will allow us to review what we have learned and reinforce the key concepts.
If you take the AP exam you will be exempt from the final exam.
Summer Material - This is a packet of problems designed for you to use to review your pre-calculus skills.
