Association Attention Parents: Find out how state and
federal actions affect you. - Actions taken by the state and federal government
often have a profound effect on the quality and cost of public education. The
NJSBA Citizen Action Project, a grassroots information and advocacy network
established by the New Jersey School Boards Association, instantly alerts
parents as issues emerge that impact them as taxpayers or affect the education
of their children. This free service also provides a quick and easy way for
citizens to express their opinion in time to influence the outcome of events in
the state and nation's capital. To join the NJSBA Citizen Action Project, go to
www.njsba.org and click on the Citizen Action
Project tab. Fill in the fields and hit the "submit" button. You will
soon receive your free grassroots advocacy kit in the mail and begin to get
emailed reports on government activities. America Goes Back to School:
Get Involved! The U. S. Department of Education has on their home page all
the information you need to launch an America Goes Back to School: Get Involved
partnership in your community. The full text of the Partners' Activity Guide,
including useful tips on how to involve community partners in your efforts, is

Association (ALA): Resources for Parents & Kids The American Library Association (ALA) is the oldest, largest, and most
influential library association in the world. This page provides several

(3) Links for Parents and Caregivers. Users can also link to the 50+ Great sites

Involvement in Education The National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education (NCPIE) is dedicated
todeveloping effective family/school partnerships in schools throughout America.
The NCPIE mission is to advocate for the involvement of parents and families in
their children's education and to foster relationships between home, school, and
community that can enhance the education of all our nation's young people. National Parent Information Network
