7th grade science has been studying the electromagnetic spectrum. Today we investigated how a prism works.  Working with their lab partners, students manipulated the position of their prism to find the correct angle of the sun to bend light so they could see the different wavelengths of color.  Using sidewalk chalk, students recorded the different wavelengths by coloring the colors of the rainbow.  We then added some positive comments to brighten the day of students and staff as they left on a sunny Friday afternoon.
