Ms. Wright’s 8th Grade Civics Class Connects with Legal Leaders Nationwide Through Scholar Exchange

Students in Ms. Wright’s 8th Grade Civics class recently completed an exciting Scholar Exchange program with the National Constitution Center focused on landmark Supreme Court cases and the impact those decisions continue to have on American society today.

Throughout the exchange, students explored historic Supreme Court rulings that shaped constitutional rights, civil liberties, and the role of government. As part of the experience, students had the unique opportunity to engage directly with lawyers, judges, and legal professionals from across the country. These conversations allowed students to hear firsthand perspectives about the Constitution, the judicial system, and the importance of civic engagement.

During the program, students discussed influential cases involving freedom of speech, equal protection, students’ rights, and due process. They examined how Supreme Court decisions affect everyday life and learned how constitutional interpretation continues to evolve over time.

The Scholar Exchange encouraged students to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, and participate in meaningful discussions with professionals working within the legal system. Students demonstrated outstanding curiosity, professionalism, and respect throughout the experience.

Ms. Wright shared how proud she was of the class for their participation and engagement during the exchange. The program provided students with a powerful opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world civic experiences while strengthening their understanding of the Constitution and the judicial branch of government.

Congratulations to Ms. Wright’s 8th Grade Civics students on successfully completing this enriching academic experience!
