LCMR Jazzers paid tribute to legendary musician Ray Deeley (second from right). Mr. Deeley studied at The Curtiss Institute in Philadelphia and held a noteworthy professional career, playing drums for everyone from Ann Margret and Julie Andrews to Bobby Rydell, Chubby Checker, and Frank Sinatra. Mr. Deeley has played in many LCMR pit orchestras, with his final show being Chicago in 2025. He also mentored many LCMR percussionists and jazz musicians through the years. In the photo with Mr. Deeley are Department alumnus Nick Mazzotta '12, LCMR jazz educator Sandy Beane-Fox, and LCMR music alumna Jocelyn Shillingford '13. Mr. Mazzotta and Ms. Shillingford performed drumset and auxiliary percussion respectively with the Jazz Choir.
Additionally, LCMR Band alumna Jillian Endicott '25 offered her alto saxophone skills to the ensemble and performed a jazz solo of "Let it Be". Ms. Endicott recently completed her first year as a music education and performance major at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University.
